Studies for the National Recovery Plan to Support the Development of Electronic Communications Networks

Component No. 1.3, “Digital High-Capacity Networks,” of the National Recovery Plan (hereinafter “NRP”) supports efforts to address the issue of building very high-capacity networks with the aim of maximizing access to data services via internet connectivity, particularly in rural areas.

It includes Reform No. 2, “Support for the Development of the 5G Network Ecosystem,” which aims to develop a strategic framework to support infrastructure sharing for 5G networks, particularly in areas that are less commercially attractive, thereby reducing energy consumption, radio emissions, and construction and operating costs.

Demonstration Projects for 5G Application Development

5G demonstration projects in the Czech Republic, funded by the National Recovery Plan (hereinafter “NRP”), support the development of applications for Industry 4.0 and Smart Cities. The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Regional Development have announced several calls for proposals (totaling hundreds of millions of CZK) to test 5G networks in real-world operations, particularly for automation, digitization, and the energy sector.

Value-added Services (VAS) over Very High Capacity Communication Networks (VHCN)

The development of public high-speed and high-capacity networks, its support, and technology awareness-raising are among BCO’s tasks in relation to municipalities. Within the BCO project, analyses were produced concerning these networks. One of them addressed the question of whether these networks have an impact on municipal budgets and therefore whether, ultimately, they may affect the lives of residents and, where applicable, entities operating within the municipality.
